Our festival was born in 2008 with the name of Botticino Jazz, organized by artistic director Luigi Settala and the Municipality of Botticino (little town in Lombardy, northern Italy). The first edition is kept to the Theatre Lucia in Botticino from October 27 to 29, 2008, recording full house during three evenings with Corrado Guarino Quartet, Amiri Baraka Quartet, Dave Burrell with Leena Conquest and Lewis Barnes, the quartet of Sabir Mateen with William Parker, Hamid Drake and Corey Wilkes, Fabrizio Puglisi and Hamid Drake duo and William Parker's Ensemble "The inside songs of Curtis Mayfield". The great success of the initiative is testified from the presence of numerous foreign public and thrilled reviews by Italian and European press. Book house Auditorium has published the volume by Marcello Lorrai "William Parker. Conversazioni sul jazz", realized thanks to photographic material contribution by our official collaborator Luciano Rosetti; 2.
