A native of Kottayam. Started her career with Kottayam Sky Larks Orchestra, organized by PK Rajan (an artist working then with Manorama) in the year 1972.
Started studying music professionally at THARANGANISARI run by Dr. K.J. Yesudas.
Followed by graduation in Carnatic vocals; Gaana Bhooshan & Gaana Praveen from Swathi Thirunal Music College, Trivandrum (1980-87)
Also a talented performer of the Veena instrument, she had performed on numerous arenas and stages across North/South India, all Gulf countries (except Saudi Arabia), Singapore & The USA.
Sung for more than 10 Malayalam movies, recorded more than 500 cassette tapes on devotional & drama songs, provided music for almost 5 albums.
At the age of 60, she still sings and performs, teaching music at her own music school Swararaaga Sangeetha Kala Peetam-Kollam
