Aubrey is a queer nonbinary filmmaker & jazz pop musician. They grew up in Florida, working in professional theater by age ten. After deferring Harvard to continue pursuing their film career, they joined ABC’s Nashville as "Layla Grant." Since then, they have shot several independent films including their writing/directorial debut “Decadeless,” which premiered at the POWfest for women, trans, & nonbinary creators in 2019. Aubrey’s debut album “Happy Birthday” was released on their 28th birthday, 11/26/21 under their alter ego “swampz.” While sonically referencing jazz, 1940s-era studio movie musicals, & 80s synth pop, this album thematically focuses on depression, anxiety, & PTSD. They can be seen in the upcoming LGBTQIA+ TV series “Unconventional,” created by Kit Williamson as queer bipolar "Margot" coming to terms with her own childhood trauma for the first time (set to be released 2024).
