I thought about what to say for a long time. Having had to deal with anxiety, and problem avoidance for well over 10 years, there’s a LOT of things I wish I would’ve done differently or not done at all.
It’s hard to give a general advice on topics like this because not everyone experiences anxiety in the same way, as well as there are various classes of "said" anxieties. Some barely notice it, while others can barely leave their bed for years on end.
However, if there’s one thing that I wish I would’ve taken to heart a lot earlier than I did, it’s to never let your anxiety stop you from doing what you want to.
Don’t focus on what NOT to do. Focus on what to DO.
Don’t avoid things. Stop planning meticulously how to circumvent an activity, or event due to someone or something. Don’t wait for someone to show up and understand you. Don’t expect anyone else to solve your problems for you.
Conquer your anxiety! No matter how much it hurts, or how afraid you are, push forward!
