Started back in 2012 by Dimas Wisnuwardono and Teguh Wicaksono, Sounds From the Corner initiated originally as an archiving project documenting performances by Indonesian musicians. The project was created due to lack of quality and diversity showcased by mainstream media during that time.
The vision originally was to build an alternative platform for Indonesian bands to get exposure and engagement. We wanted to make sure that people can discover, acknowledge and appreciate the many forms of music that Indonesia has. And we wanted to make sure that we present this with the best audio & video quality.
Today, Sounds From the Corner is the leading platform for music discovery in Indonesia - particularly within the side stream sector - which is growing rapidly for the past decade. Our main mission remains the same: to bridge between rich and diverse music in Indonesia and the fans/audience/consumer via high quality content that they can access for free, 24/7.
