我住在渥太华的市中心。虽然后院不是特大，但能有一个这么大的后院在市中心还是很少见。所以我很珍惜我家的后院。我家后院相对市中心院子来讲光线很好。渥太华是北方气候，比较冷。室外种菜时间是从五月中旬至10月菜，时间很短。四月份就得在室内育瓜苗。
Ottawa is in plant hardiness zone 4. It has a short outdoor grow season from May to end of September. Seedlings for various squash or gourds have to be started indoors in April.
这是我第四年在后院种菜。以前没怎么种菜经验。我在学习摸索。
