Background Mo’aa is a television private broadcasting company. It is owned by Leadstar Media P.L.C. and licensed under the registration number KK/AA/1/0009407/2008 in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Although preliminary discussion about the need to establish a television cable network began earlier, testing transmission started on December 14, 2016. After months of testing, Mo’aa started its actual regular transmission on April 16, 2017 – the Ethiopian Eastern day. Despite its short time preparation intervals from conceptualization to realization, it has become a media house that is being followed by millions in Ethiopia and beyond.
Afan Oromo is the media’s main medium of transmission. Speakers of this language are the direct audience of the television. Generally, its reach in content is holistic in which the central message focuses on the great commission – preaching and teaching the Gospel of Christ.
