Hello my name is Gerard Howard, Creator of Marchingsport.com, for over 20 years I have documented the world of Historically Black College Bands in Photograph and Film. My work has gone by various names and efforts over the years (HBCUBANDS.COM, blackcollegebands.com, The Marching Network, Bandhead.org) but the mission and vein remains the same.
My Goal has been to get what HBCU and Showstyle Bands Communities do recognized internationally as an art form. I believe our art form is just as relevant and influential to the world as Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Hip Hop, Rock, R&B and other art forms African Americans have created.
