Topics include the decolonization of museums, the fight for African Independence, & African Americans' fight for freedom & equality. This channel, curated by Dr. Tukufu Zuberi, aims to reshape & expand how people think about the history, present, & future of Africa and the diaspora.
Dr. Zuberi, the Lasry Family Professor of Race Relations at the University of Pennsylvania, is a writer, documentarian, & curator. He curated "Tides of Freedom: African Presence on the Delaware" at the Independence Seaport Museum; "Black Bodies in Propaganda: The Art of the War Poster" (Penn Museum; Northwest African American Museum); & the "AFRICA GALLERIES from Maker to Museum" (Penn Museum). From 2003 to 2014, Dr. Zuberi was a host of the hit Public Broadcasting System (PBS) series History Detectives.
