Hi there, I'm Ed Chew and I'm all about finding creative ways to turn trash into treasure. As someone who's passionate about repurposing and upcycling, I love taking discarded materials and giving them new life.
Back in 2011, I achieved worldwide recognition when I won the Grand Jury Prize at Inhabitat's Bright Ideas lighting design competition. My winning submission was a lampshade that I had crafted entirely from discarded juice cartons. To make it, I cut the cartons into strips and then folded them into simple triangles. These triangles were then pieced together, without the use of any adhesives, to create a stunning geodesic sphere. It was a proud moment for me, and it inspired me to continue exploring the creative possibilities of repurposing and upcycling.
