Fiili developed an interest Film industry after meeting Uluc Yemen Aslan, a well-regarded producer and Film Director from Turkey, as well as Khadaraydus Ahmed, a Somali Film director who has been awarded the highest accolades in African, Asian and European Film, Also Ahmed Farah, an internationally recognized Film director who has been awarded numerous medals. Fiil made history by being the first person to present Film at the National theater in 30 years, and first to submit a Somali film for the prestigious Oscar award.
In 2022, Fiili was lucky enough to be among the 10 Screenwriters selected to participate in the Qumra short program organized by the Dohaha film institute.
