My friends call me bALIboosta. Why? Because I’m a modern day ‘baleboste’. Huh? The name originates from the Yiddish, meaning “mistress of the house”. Calm down, I’m not running a brothel. I do however, open my fridge, warm my stove and fill the bellies of the people I love. I believe in strong family values, am known as a somewhat gracious hostess amongst my peers and happen to be a jew (culturally not religiously – please, me, kosher?), so felt the name was somewhat fitting.
