Rachel Hundley was first elected to the city council in Sonoma, California in 2014. During her re-election campaign in 2018, Rachel made a national splash when a YouTube video she posted responding to an attempt at blackmail to get her to drop out of the race went viral. She ended up winning a second term with the most votes in Sonoma City Council history.
These days, Rachel is retired from politics but still works in local government. Always a proponent of good government, Rachel is an expert on California transparency and ethics laws.
A native of Charleston, SC, Rachel earned three undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia (journalism, political science and speech & communication) and a law degree from the University of North Carolina. After spending four years practicing corporate litigation in New York City, Rachel felt the west coast calling, so she moved to Sonoma and started a fried chicken business. The next year, Rachel was elected to the Sonoma City Council.
