LOMONEY was formed in 2004 when Vetyp discovered the intimidating and unique tone of Amathyst. The two artists met in the studio of Dawnraid, where they teamed up on the Str8 from the Streets 3 album. With their synchronized thoughts, they had a combination of melodies, rhythms and hard-core lyrics. Prior to these two MCs collaborating, Vetyp was a member of a trio (Sinister Syndicate) with two of South Auckland's most underrated MCs, Cashez & Message. Vetyp introduced Amathyst to the rest of his crew; they instantly connected forming one of New Zealand's most marketable teams, LOMONEY.
Although this group of talented troops have only been together for two and a half years, they have all been spitting rhymes since the late 90's. The LOMONEY boys have been doing underground shows and also had their first T.V appearance on Maori Televisions Coast T.V and in doing that the boy's have always gained respect from other MCs for their ability to engage and rip a stage to pieces.
