Trans:Genesis is a multimedia documentary project that explores being transgender through sociological, biological, historical, and spiritual perspectives in order to educate and inform those concerned with the social issues of the transgender community and who want to learn more about the personal lives of trans individuals. Through film, photography, and writing we gain insight into the lives of trans people.
The viewpoints of the individuals interviewed do not represent the opinions of all trans people or the trans community. Some might disagree with their viewpoints on the various issues discussed. There are many ways to define gender and being transgender and not all trans people share the same beliefs and viewpoints. The purpose of this project to gain insight on some of those ideas to better understand the social issues regarding the trans community and to expand our understanding of gender.
